OOPS It's been a while

I hadn't realized it's been a while since I last posted. I've been in a little funk and also under the weather for the past week. That didn't stop me from scrapping though. Here are a few pages.

This page was inspired from the photo. My LSS held a special crop for one of the members from the board of Scrapbook Star.

These next two pages were inspired by using only the colors from the photo and nothing more.

And this one was just to have some fun using bubble wrap and paint dabbers.

Be sure to come back soon as I will be having a really cool rak to give away. I did a clean up and have lots of goodies. :D

Happy Thanksgiving

For my DT on MOSD for October. This month it is with a theme - holidays in October. I decided to do a thanksgiving card. I used the MOSD scallop chipboards. Before pasting my PP to the chipboard I used an x-acto knife and lightly cut a line so I could fold my card. I then decorated my chipboard with PP and ribbon and alpha mini's. I used adhesive to bound the front and back of the card.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Cosmo Cricket - Earth Love

I am so into Cosmo Cricket PP's right now. The Earth Love collection is one of my favs and the Jolly By Golly is so darn cute for the holidays. I am expecting some more this week and can't wait. Here is my 2nd page using the Earth Love collection. TFL! I so wanted to take this little guy home!!! Sigh! I used some beads at the bottom to give it a little walk way feel. Thank god for glossy accents they are sealed tight to the page. LOL

First Mini Book

First let me say how excited I am to be posting my first project for MOSD! This gave me the push I needed to make my first mini album ever! At first I was really nervous because thinking outside of a 12 x 12 page isn't easy. The hardest part on mini books is having to cut your pages and making sure that they all match. What's wonderful about the chipboard precuts is you don't have to worry about that.

For my covers I used the precut acrylic and i used acrylic paint around the edges. I was worried that over time the paint could easily chip away so I went over it with glossy accents. I then decorated it with flowers and bling.

I am an Aunt to 5 wonderful nieces and nephews so I used 1 page both sides to showcase each one. What I loved about this chipboard is the half circle edge so I used it to put each of their names. TFL!

Right Place Right Time

I was sitting on my balcony and about to get up when I heard something. I turned around and not even 2 feet away from me I saw an amazing thing. A grasshopper. So I quickly ran in the house and prayed that when I returned he would still be there. HE WAS!!! And I got some amazing shots. Here is the page I did with him titled "Thanks For Hopping By"

I'm Back

After a minor set back due to the surgery I am back. A few stitches were resting on my nerve and well that was quite painful. Now the stitches are gone and i am much better. After all that I finally managed to complete a page. Yippee! I used a sketch from 52 Sketches 52 Weeks to give me inspiration.

Here is my page

And here is the sketch

Post Operation LO's

It's so hard to believe that last Wednesday I had surgery done to my hand. What is more surprising is that I have been able to use it more than I thought I would. It was tough the first few days because I had to exercise my fingers. But I didn't let that stop me. I have managed to complete 2 LO's. For the LO Beauty Defined the journaling is "Beauty" defined in the dictionary. Here they are and TFL!!!

The Day Finally Arrived!

I now own a Canon Rebel SLR!!! I gave it a little test tonight and it is sweet!!! Here is a page I did but had to wait for my camera before I could upload! I used the new PP's from Fancy Pants - Kraft Kutz. Enjoy!

2 Days And Counting

Until I pick up my new slr!!! I have decided on the canon rebel. I was torn between the Nikon D60 and the canon rebel. Basically it's the same camera with the same functions. What sold me is that the Nikon doesn't have LCD capabilities after you take your photo. I need this feature. Maybe I have become spoiled since cameras went digital but I need to know before I upload if my picture came out.

Going Thru Camera Withdrawal!!! LOL

I sold my digital camera and on Thursday I am picking up a brand new Canon Rebel SLR. However at the moment I am without a camera and going thru some serious withdrawals. Of course when you don't have it is when you need it. 3 days and counting!!!

Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs

July has been an exciting time. It is with great pleasure that I announce another DT Spot at Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs (MOD Squad) for short. I am SO excited to have made my first manufacturer DT!! This is the announcement on their blog today.

Drum Roll Please....

We are thrilled, we are excited, we are beside ourselves....WE HAVE A NEW DESIGN TEAM!

First I must say, this was by far, the most difficult decision we have had to make in a very long time. We had over 50 very talented applicants apply for 14 positions on our MOD Squad. Which means we had to disappoint a lot of very talented crafters. This is never an easy task and certainly one we don't enjoy. But the good news is we were also able to spread joy and happiness to 14 incredible ladies (not leaving the guys out here - we only had female applicants...). We also have two members returning from the original team, to make it a 16 member team.

So without further ado, we would like to introduce the new MOD Squad (aka: the Midnight Oil Design Squad). You can find links to their blogs along the left hand side...

Gloria Stengel
Debbie Fitzgerald
Shannon Morgan
Jennifer Hansen
Marisa Faylim
Dolores Cancel
Lori McCausland
Carolyn Lontin
Pamela Jordan
Valerie Chmielak
Naureen O'Neale
KellyJean Gettelfinger
Amy Oxford
Vickilyn Crawford
Erica Hofstetter
Tina Guigui

These wonderful ladies will begin introducing themselves here in the following days. You can also find out more about them at their personal blogs. Then beginning August 1st each of these ladieswill begin posting projects, tips and techniques for your enjoyment right here at the MOSD blog!

Congratulations ladies and thanks in advance for all your hard work!

Their blog is posted on the left. Please check it out!

Sassy Sneak Peaks

Sassy Scrappers already has the info on the blog so I will reveal here. This month's sponser is bound + d\termined. I couldn't believe the amount of papers & matching die cuts that i received from one kit. It's called Word of the Wise and it has so many colors. I have completed 2 pages and I will show a sneak peak. The reveal will be on Wednesday, July 8 on Sassy Scrappers. Of course I will also reveal here. :D

Here is the 1st sneak peak for "Bare Necessities"

And here is the 2nd sneak peak for "I Love Today"

Great News

I am on the Design Team for Butterfly Crafts and Sassy Scrappers. How exciting is that!!! I started my term for Butterfly Crafts in June. Once a month on the 1st of the month I submit a layout based on the challenge given. There are goodies to be won. :) So be sure to check it out.

Starting this month I begin my term with Sassy Scrappers! Once again there is lots of goodies to be won. As soon as I get the ok I will post the goodies and the sponser. You won't be disappointed. Stay tuned!

A Big Thanks

I started scrapbooking in Sept. 08 and if it weren't for the help of Scrapbook Star I don't think I would have ventured far in this hobby. I was a little overwhelmed at first but the wonderful ladies at SS were with me every step of the way. Scrapbook Star is my LSS and I am not only a full participant on the message boards but I am actively partcipating in their crops & classes. I have become great friends with quite a few members and my life has forever changed. Thank you Sam for your patience and your amazing store!!! Big hugs!

Welcome To My Blog!

Hello everyone! I have been thinking for a while that I need a blog and considering all the amazing things that have happened I have decided I need one. I am a little nervous because I was never a blogger before. I will certainly make mistakes but I look forward to this new venture.
