Club Scrap June Blog Hop With Boardwalk Kit & Blog Candy Giveaway

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the June Blog Hop with the Boardwalk Kit from Club Scrap.  First things first if you came from Anne Marie's Blog.  If you didn't then you can start at the beginning with Karen on the Club Scrap Blog.

This card was a little out of my element.  I decided to give Color Burst a try.  After a few failed attempts I tried something different and I just love the results.  First I stamped my Boardwalk Greeting Unmounted Stamp using Club Scrap's Watermark Ink Pad on a clear white cardstock from the kit.  Then I sprinkled embossing clear powder and heat set. Next I generously sprayed water and sprinkled 2 colors from the Color Burst Earth Tone Collection.  I had way too much so I let the ink run down onto my craft mat and with a piece of white cardstock cut 4"x 5 1/4" I dipped the paper into the excess to use for my background.

This card will surprise you.  It is made with the Boardwalk Digital Collection!!!  Yup you read correctly.  I decided to try it out.  There are some different paper designs in the Digital Kit so I printed it out on my Canon Printer and here are the results.  To top it off I added some of the buttons from the Boardwalk Deluxe Kit.

Thanks for stopping by! Your next stop is Lisa's Blog.

Club Scrap June Artist Team Challenge

Hi Everyone,

It's that time again!!!  This month's Artist Team Challenge from Club Scrap is to incorporate the Hypno special edition collection into projects.

Now first things first if you came from the Lisa's Blog then you came from the right place.  If you didn't you can start at the beginning with Karen at Club Scrap's Blog.

For my first project I decided it was time to take my plain box I bought at the local Dollar Store and jazz it up.  I am so happy with the results.  This box went from super plain to super funky!!! I didn't have the heart to add any finishing touches so I let the patterned paper speak for itself. I did remove the handle and elastic first before I glued the patterned paper.  You'll notice I even decorated the handle as well.

I used some stencils and chipboard designs with acrylic paint to add detail on my page. I felt adding additional papers would take away from the patterned paper.  The patterned paper from the Boardwalk Kit which is matting my photo was colored with distress ink so the color would blend in more with the colors from the patterned paper background.  The title of my page is You Are Getting Very Sleepy...Not.  My son was a great joy to raise except he never napped.  I crossed out "sleepy" with a Club Scrap ribbon and added "not" with chipboard letters.

For my tag I cut the patterned paper 2 1/8"x4 1/4" and snipped the top corners on an angle.  I used a kite die to create the kite and added the Boardwalk multi colored ribbon.  Topped it off with a Club Scrap ribbon at the top circle.  I cut the word Play from one of the patterned papers and with a black marker I added lines all around.

TFL! and stopping by.  Your next stop is Anne Marie's Blog.

Susan's Garden Club - How Does Your Garden Grow

Hi Everyone,

I have wonderful news to share.  Today is my first official post as one of Susan's Designers for Susan's Garden Club. Yeah!!!  I am super excited to be joining her wonderful team.

My card for today was inspired by Spring which has finally arrived here in Canada. It took it's sweet time.  Everywhere I go I am seeing gardens bloom.  I knew my first card would have to be a garden.

Here are the steps to recreating this 6"x6" card.

Step 1: Cut cardstock 6"x12", fold in half for 6"x6" finished card.
Step 2: Cut white Soft Finish cardstock 5 3/4"x 5 3/4", paint background using acrylic paints with a touch of silver metallic acrylic paint.  Once dry ink the edges with distress ink.

Step 3: Adhere background to the front of the card.
Step 4: Die cut CountryScapes Nantucket Arbor & Picket Fence with patterned paper Through the Lens Stone Series. 1 arbor and 2 picket fence.
Step 5: Cut Picket Fence as picture below. You will be using the cut piece with 4 posts.

Step 6:  Adhere Picket Fence and Arbor to front of card.

Step 7: Die cut CountryScapes Garden Edges Hyacinth with Sunflower Soft Finish Cardstock (use Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back of cardstock).  Cut off 3 Hyacinths from each edge.  Once you finish creating the Hyacinths adhere to the bottom of the picked fences.

Here is a tutorial on YouTube from Susan Tierney-Cockburn to help you with layering the Hyacinth. The video is using the Garden Notes - Hyacinth but the technique is still the same.
Step 8: Die cut Garden Notes Grapevine Wreath Oval with Brown Soft Finish Cardstock.  Cut in half and adhere to the top of the Arbor.
Step 9: Die cut Leafy Branch with Green Soft Finish Cardstock.  For texture ink the edges with distress inks or other medium of your choice.  Cut in half and adhere on top of Grapevine Wreath Oval.
Step 10: Die cut Bunch of Flowers.  Ink the edges and shape using Susan’s Garden Club CountryScapes Tools Buy It All.  Adhere randomly over the Leafy Branch.
Step 11: Add pearl embellishment to create a doorknob.

Step 12: (Optional) Die cut Lady Bugs and adhere to card.
Step 13: (Optional) Die cut CountryScapes - Country Critters 1 and adhere to card.
Step 14: Die cut Happy Birthday with Clear Double Sided Adhesive only.  Peel back off and place in the center of Arbor.  Once placed peel off front and sprinkle Silk Microfine Glitter (your choice of color).

This card can be used for any occasion.   I hope you have enjoyed this project.  What will your Garden Grow!

Tag with Boardwalk June Kit from Club Scrap

Happy Saturday Everyone,

Here is a tag I did using the Boardwalk Kit from Club Scrap. I cut out a tag from the red patterned paper. The dimensions are 2 1/8"x 4 1/4".  At the top I cut an angle at the corners.  For the circle I used my Crop-A-Dile. The crab metal ornament is entwined with the multi colored yarn and wrapped around the tag several times before I tied it.  I cut out the bathing suit from the cut-a-part and used foam pop-ups for depth. The white metal dots are from my stash.  Finally I tied to big red ribbon at the top.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Here is a close up.

First I stamped the starfish stamp with archival black ink.  This will allow to color without creating ink blotches when coloring.  I colored the stamps with promarkers to be able to create blending.  You can use copics as well.  The colors I used is Burnt Orange and Mandarin.

For my background I cut a patterned paper 4"x5 1/4" from Echo Park - 6x6 paper pad - Sunshine. I inked the edges with distress ink - Mustard Seed.

With the same patterned paper I cut some smaller strips for layering.  TFL!  Be sure to check out what the rest of the team did.  You can go here.

Can You Case It - Using Club Scrap Boardwalk Kit

Good Morning Everyone,

Sometimes we need some inspiration and a push to get our creative juices flowing.  I have some wonderful challenge sites on my side bar.  Today I am using the Can You Case It Challenge #123 - Red, White & Blue and the gorgeous kit Boardwalk from Club Scrap.

With Canada Day and Independence Day in the US coming up shortly I thought this would be perfect with the challenge colors looking very patriot.  I am from Canada and we don't have Blue in our flag but Britain does....so I added blue.

For my card I used the scrap left over from the 8 1/2" x 11" patterned paper.  The banner is from the cut-a-part.  The gorgeous wood tag and stars were colored with a promarker.  I added the multi color yarn to the tag.  Last my sentiment is a first line from a quote by Jack Sparrow - I'm Free Forever which speaks volumes.  I used the Club Scrap Pigment White Ink.

TFL! Remember I to check out the challenge blogs I have on my side bar if ever you need some inspiration!
