Club Scrap August Blog Hop And Linky Party with Sunflowers Kit

Hi Everyone,

Welcome back to another Club Scrap Blog Hop and Linky Party. This months kit Sunflowers is so vibrant and cheery. If you haven't already received it be sure to order it now.

Now first things first if you came from Esther's blog then you came from the right place.  If you didn't you can start at the beginning with Karen from the Club Scrap blog.

All product is from Club Scrap Sunflower Kit unless otherwise stated.

For my first card I used the patterned paper for the background.  The checkered strips and center is from the cut-a-part.  I handmade my sunflower using Elizabeth Craft Designs die Garden Notes - Sunflower.  I used some pan pastels for some shading.  Finished card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 folded.

For my second card I used the 12x12 patterned paper for the base of the card.  I used a cut-a-part and matted with plain cardstock.  I used the gorgeous green ribbon and snipped the ends.  I topped it off with the flower wood button and colored it with Promarkers.  Finished card is 6x6 folded.

For my third card I first prepared a piece of watercolor paper (4 1/4x5 1/2) with 2 colors of distress ink using clarity brushes.  Distress ink colors are Mustard Seed and Wild Honey.  Next I stamped the image from the Sunflowers Jumbo Unmounted Stamps with India Ink on prepared watercolor paper. I then colored the sunflower with a waterbrush & distress inks.  Using a paint brush with water I blended the dry application of distress inks on the outside of the image (the border).  Once dry I cut the watercolor paper edges to measure 3 1/2x4 3/4. I used a 8 1/2x11 patterned paper for the base.  Last I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops for some accents.

And last I wanted to show another card I made using the Sunflower Digital Kit.  The digital kit is a great way to play while waiting for the paper kit to arrive.  I printed a background pattern and the sunflower image on cardstock.  I colored the sunflower with Promarkers.  For the shading I used Distress ink with the foam applicator.  The green patterned paper is from the Enchanted Forest Remix Collection Kit.

Thank you for stopping by.  Now it's time to head on over to Lisa's Blog to continue the Hop.

So Suzy Stamps August Stamp of the Month Club

Hi Everyone,

Today I am showing you how versatile the August Stamp is with previous stamps from So Suzy Stamps Stamp of the Month Club.

The quote is "May your anchor be tight, your cork be loose, your rum be spiced and your compass be true.

Finished card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2

Before stamping my image I die cut an oval circle.  I placed a white cardstock underneath.  Using my clarity brush and distress ink I went around and around the oval giving the cardstock some depth but also a soft look.  I stamped the February Stamp on top and then matted it with patterned paper.  The patterned papers are from Echo Park 6x6 Reflections & Scoot.

The sentiment is embossed with nuvo embossing powder black on plain cardstock.

TFL! See you soon!

Susan's Garden Club - Iris

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing a card I made using Susan's Dies - Garden Notes - Iris from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I just love it when I make flowers from Susan's Garden Club and DH guesses right the first time.  Susan's dies are realistic in every detail.

All product is from Elizabeth Craft Designs unless otherwise stated.

Below is a photo of an iris that inspired to pull out my Iris Die.  There are several different types of Iris'. Some the center is yellow while the rest is blue/purple.  The one below is slightly different, the center is blue while the bottom layers are blue with yellow.  This is how I chose to design my flower.

Here is my card before prepping for my flower.

If you are not familiar on how to assemble Garden Notes flower dies then head on over to the Elizabeth Craft Design Youtube page.  Although this Iris in particular is not there you will find plenty of tutorials to help you with the assembly.

This card can be used for any occasion.  Below is a product list with links. Thank you for stopping by.

Retarte Challenge Blog with A Day For Daisies

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the Retarte Challenge.  Today we are sponsoring A Day For Daisies.  This beautiful image is Skirt of Flowers.  I colored it with Promakers.  For the first time I tried masking a scene. I used distress inks on top of the stencil. I really love how it turned out but now I am in danger.  I will need more stencils!!! :P The papers are from Authentique 6x6 Utopia Collection.  The base of the card and matting is Michael's cardstock.  I tried my hand with Nuvo Crystal drops and I just love it.  It dries very well.  Be sure to check out the Retarte Challenge Blog for all the details.  TFL and see you soon!

Club Scrap Sunflower Kit with Can You Case It

Hi everyone,

Do you ever feel stuck like you've lost your mojo? It's like writers block except it's crafters block. Sometimes no matter what we do we just stare at our stash and still nothing happens. There are plenty of challenge sites out there to help us and if that wasn't enough there are prizes to be won as well.

Today I am showing you a card I did using the Club Scrap Digital Kit Sunflower (while waiting for my paper kit to arrive). It was perfect to use with the current challenge at Can You Case It. Yellow,  black and greys oh my!

I colored the sunflower using promarkers for blending. I left the stem empty since green isn't part of the challenge. I used black and yellow cardstock for the base of my card. I adhered the sunflower image and cut out the sentiment and matted it with black. Simple,  clean and allowing the focus to be the sunflower.

TFL! Don't forget I have a blog giveaway which ends August 15.  All you have to do is follow my blog for a chance to win a Pocket Letter (9 ATC's).

Club Scrap Sunflower Digital Kit

Hi Everyone,

I am waiting for the Sunflower Kit from Club Scrap. Unfortunately I live in Canada so it takes a bit longer to arrive. I recently found out that they do Digital Kits as well. I thought well why not. It could tide me down until the paper kit arrives.

I received the digital kit yesterday and I printed the items I wanted to use. The fun thing about digital is that it gives you more control. You can print to the size you want. I printed the uncolored sunflower. Colored it with promarkers for better blending. Once finished I fussy cut it out. I then layered the printable backgrounds. One regular size on 8.5x11 (which has 4 backgrounds) I used the green background. Then I printed a large  background for the base of my card.

If you are like me and want to play while waiting for your paper kit then sign up for the digital kit. Its fun and gives you some control. Thanks for stopping by.
