Creating a DIY Background using Club Scrap Paris Flea Market Stamps and Distress Oxides

Hi Everyone,

Today I am showing you how to do your own background using Club Scrap Paris Flea Market Stamps and Distress Oxide Inks. I have done this with the regular Distress Inks but never had the same results. I am really excited by how vibrant this technique is with the oxides. Its hard to believe I started with a white cardstock.

First I covered my paper with the oxide inks and used my heat gun to dry, in between adding colors I sprayed some water. When I was finished I set aside to dry completely. I used the Paris Flea Market Unmounted Stamps using Walnut Stain and dabs of Faded Jeans in random areas. I wanted some of the blue on the stamping. Here are the results.

Finshed card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

I didn't have the heart to cover my background with any other paper so I decided to use Diecuts in black to make the background stand out. I used Elizabeth Craft Designs dies Curvy Leaves, Small Butterfly & Happy Flowers (in orange). I used the sentiment from the Unmounted Stamps from the Dahlia Kit. For the finishing touch I added a gem to the center of the diecut flower.

Thanks for stopping by. If you want to create your own background you may want to check out the stamps from the new Adirondack Kit. There are some ideal stamps to use for this technique.
