Birds & Branches with Case This Sketch 281

Hi Everyone,
I was playing around with my Birds & Branches Background Stamp from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I was trying different watercolor techniques. I loved the effect of the Distress Oxide Inks and since I had some of the images colored with them I decided to fussy cut them out and not waste them. They have been sitting on my desk and when I saw this weeks challenge over at Case This Sketch I knew Sketch 281 was perfect. Case This Sketch is a super fun Challenge Site if you struggle with CAS Cards or even if this is your style. It is a weekly challenge that is sure to inspire you. Below is the steps to replicate this card.

  • Step 1 - Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)
  • Step 2 - Stamp sentiment using Versafine Onyz Black Ink.
  • Step 3 - Stamp Birds & Branches Background on watercolor paper using Versafine Onyz Black Ink. Using an acrylic block apply Distress Oxide Ink. Using an Aqua Brush pick up the ink and color in the stamped images. (I used Peeled Paint, Abandoned Coral, Wild Honey & Squeezed Lemonade). When images are dry fussy cut them out.
  • Step 4 - Adhere the colored stamped images to the card front. The leaves using collage medium and foam tape for the flower.
  • Step 5 - Optional - For accents apply Crystal Nuvo Drops Morning Dew.

This card can be used for any occasion by changing the color, images and/or sentiment. Below is a link to all products used. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day. Be sure to come back on Friday for a Super Fun Blog Giveaway.

Elizabeth Craft Designs July Challenge Summer Fun With Words And Numbers

Hi Everyone,
Today is the July Challenge at Elizabeth Craft Designs. The Challenge this month is Summer Fun With Words and Numbers. For a chance to win a $20 gift certificate answer this question. What Elizabeth Craft Designs die or stamp set would you use with the Blackboard Alphabet or Blackboard Numbers die sets? Go here and answer the question in the comments section. Below you will find the links to all products used along with the steps to replicate this Card.

  • Step 1 - Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and fold in half for a vertical side fold card (A2)
  • Step 2 - Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Using a wide water brush completely cover the cardstock with water. Sprinkle Color Burst and watch magic happen. Once you are satisfied with your background set it aside to dry. When throughly dry Diecut Stitched Rectangles using the background. Diecut Blackboard Letters to create a word with the same background. Adhere the background to the card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.
  • Step 3 - Diecut Summer Drink using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Color the solid circle for the lime and the umbrella using any color medium of your choice. I used Winsor & Newton Promarkers. Set aside the Mug for Step 4.
  • Step 4 -  Diecut Summer Drink (Mug) using acetate sheet. Cut out the center part of the Mug from the White diecut. There are embossed lines to guide you. Trim the acetate to fit the Mug and remove the handle and the upper part. Carefully apply 2 layers of foam tape all around the backside of the mug white diecut. A trick is to double up and trim the foam tape to the size you need it and remove the release sheet on both sides. This will make it easier to bend around the corners. Add sequins mix. You can create a background or use patterned paper to seal the back by diecutting the mug from the Summer Drink and again remember to remove the handle and upper part.
  • Step 5 - Assemble the lime and adhere the lime and umbrella to the card using foam tape.

This card can be used for any occasion by changing the color, sentiments and/or images. Below are links to the Elizabeth Craft Designs products used. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day. Don't forget to answer the question for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate. (See above).

Case This Sketch Challenge 280

Hi Everyone,
Today I am sharing a card based on a sketch challenge from Case This Sketch #280. It's a fun challenge for CAS cards. Clean And Simple. If you struggle or you love CAS cards this is a great site for inspiration.

Sketch #280

Below are the steps to replicate this card.

  • Step 1 - Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)
  • Step 2 - Trim White Cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Ink a section of an embossing folder on the flat side using an ink pad in the color of your choice. I used SSS Hollyhock. Place the cardstock inside and pass it through your embossing machine. The ink transfers onto the background leaving the embossed area white. Trim to 4" x 5 1/4" and adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.
  • Step 3 - Diecut Sentiment using black fun foam with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet to the backside. Carefully remove the Diecut and release sheet. Adhere to the front of card.
  • Step 4 - For some accents add some Crystal Nuvo Drops Morning Dew.

This card can be used for any occasion by changing the color, embossing folder and/or sentiment. Below is a link for all products used. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.
