Sunshine to a Gloomy Day Card Plus Blog Giveaway

Hi Everyone, today is a gloomy day with freezing rain in the forecast so I wanted to create something sunny and fun. But before I get started I have a Blog Giveaway. Most of us are not having much of a Spring so far so I decided the Blog Giveaway should be Spring Themed. The winner will receive 2 new Distress Oxides (Mermaid Lagoon and Squeezed Lemonade) and the Tulip Garden die from Die-Namites. To be eligible you must follow my blog. The contest ends May 4 and the winner will be announced on May 5.

Here is the prize.

Finished card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" for a horizontal side fold card

I used the gingham stamp from the Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit. I used my stamp positioner tool to create the pattern because the stamp is small. I used Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade by applying it directly on White Soft Finish Cardstock stamping with versafine Onyx Black. From that point on I decided on a yellow/black card. This was a challenge but it worked out in the end. I created my background by applying Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade with a brush. Then I sprinkled some water to get the oxidized look. The gingham pattern is matted on a Diecut Stitched Postage Stamp Edge Rectangles Die on Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock. I stamped the flower and vase from Newton's Nook Designs Versatile Vases Stamp set. The sentiment and banner is also from SSS March kit. I finished the card by adding dashed lines in a black fine tip marker.

I created a card for me without any DT projects in mind which is a rare occasion. I have listed all the products I used below. Thank you for stopping by and remember to Follow My Blog for a chance to win my Blog Giveaway.
